IS THE DRIVEWAY ON THE RIGHT SIDE?

Driveway locations play an important role in the design of a multi unit development.

On a wide site suitable for a duplex, the driveways must be clear off the root system of the trees on the nature strip. They must be offset from any electricity pole(s) or pits in the footpath. Guidewires holding up an electricity pole must be clear off the driveway

In a site with one driveway, the driveway should be ideally on the south side. That will create a buffer between the proposed townhouses or dual occupancy homes and the neighbouring house on the south side.

This will reduce the impact of any shadowing on the neighbours land an item Council planners will examine!
