The New England Journal of Medicine evaluated the stability of the Virus in aerosols and on various surfaces and estimated their decay rates using a Bayesian regression model.

Covid-19 is a respiratory disease that spreads through droplets in the air.

The virus has the ability to survive outside the human body, in the air, and on surfaces such as metal, glass and plastics, if they were not properly disinfected.

Human-to-human transmissions have an incubation time of 2 to 10 days, spreading through air droplets. These droplets are either released through coughing and sneezing or through contaminated hands and surfaces.

Time the virus remains on a material.

Glass and wood surfaces- 4 days

Aluminium - 8 hours

Plastic and stainless steel -72 hours

Copper - 4 hours

Cardboard- 24 hours

Disinfecting surfaces with alcohol/beach hydrogen peroxide- 1 minute
